Spring: Winter snow gives way to lush fruit orchards and fresh farm foods. The valley opens up to fishing, mountain biking, white-water rafting, and spring skiing and snowmobiling in nearby locations.
Summer: Long summer days and warm nights enable backpackers and those on horseback to explore neighboring public lands. About 6 miles from our farm, you will find Dishman Hills Natural Resources Conservation Area, which is a 530-acre area protected by a combination of public (Spokane County Parks and Recreation Department and Washington Department of Natural Resources) and nonprofit (Dishman Hills Natural Area Association) groups, located in Spokane County, Washington. A “must see” for birdwatchers.
Fall: In September and October, the orchard harvest of Mountain Valley View Farm, Inc. is at the height of fall foliage. A must for photographers.
Winter: Skiing and snowboarding from Mount Spokane. Mount Spokane Ski and Snowboard Park is a nonprofit winter alpine recreation facility located within Mount Spokane State Park, just 28 miles from downtown Spokane. Summit Elevation: 5,889 feet. Base Lodge Elevation: 4,200 feet. They offer affordable skiing and snowboarding with 5 double-chair lifts over 1,425 acres and 2,000 vertical feet, 45 designated runs, 16 night skiing runs, slopes for all ability levels, a mile-long terrain park, and the best undiscovered tree skiing in the area. They offer free shuttle service, ski check, and Wi-Fi access, convenient bag check, and daycare. They even offer bus service from several Spokane locations on most weekends! For almost 70 years, their instructors have helped develop a passion for the mountain experience among millions of children and adults in and around the Spokane community. The instructors are trained to teach the little ones age 3 on up, to age 70 or more! They have both certified and non-certified instructors who can teach skills in many areas, or if you just want to learn or improve the skills you may already have.
Mountain Valley View Farm, Inc. raises honeybees and sells natural honey to their local customers and ships honey on a limited basis. We also offer gifts items with honeybee and honey themes, as well as honey cookbooks.
We decided to try our hand at a tiny vineyard, planting approved cuttings of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes.
